Stempel Support
Find a record, correct a workday, or keep a safe copy of your time. These guides explain what to expect and where to start.
Which version do these guides cover?
As of October 9, 2026, Stempel 1.0 is available on the App Store and version 1.1 is awaiting review. Guides marked “Version 1.1” apply after you install that update when it becomes available. Check your version in Settings.
Contact support
Tell us what happened, what you expected, your device model, system version, and the Stempel version shown in Settings. If you include a screenshot, hide unrelated notes or personal information first; a full copy of your records is usually unnecessary.

Finish a timer or undo finishing
Today has separate, visible pause, resume, and finish controls. After saving, “Undo finish” is available for up to five minutes, provided you have not started another timer or changed or deleted that record. Undo restores the previous running or paused state; the gap after finishing remains a break. A timer under 30 seconds asks whether to save or continue.
Activities and one-tap favorites
Create a name and color for a client, project, or task in Settings → Activities. Favorite activities appear on Today. Switching activity saves the previous time separately and starts the next activity; review the short-entry prompt when shown. An activity saved on a record travels with that record, while your favorites library stays on this device.
Find a day and understand its totals
Records offers a monthly calendar, a list, date navigation, activity filters, and search by note or activity. Review lets you browse earlier weeks and months and open a day from the chart. Its average counts only days with recorded work; those days may still be incomplete. Time crossing midnight is allocated to each day.
Correct work segments and missed breaks
Open a saved record to zoom its timeline, adjust individual work segments with precise start and end times, or add a missed break. Check the net work time before saving. Overlaps with other saved or currently running work must be resolved. Changing only a note does not remove the record’s existing breaks.
Templates, copies, and batch conflicts
Save a record as a template or copy it to past dates. The preview shows the proposed work and any conflicts before you confirm. If any selected date overlaps saved or running work, or contains future work, the entire batch remains unsaved. Remove or correct those dates and preview again. Templates are local to this device.
PDF reports and CSV compatibility
Create a report for a date range and activity, then choose PDF or CSV and whether to include notes. CSV v2 preserves record identity, work segments, activity details, and modification times. Import also accepts Stempel’s older five-column CSV: date, start, end, duration_seconds, note. Old files preserve net time but cannot recover pause locations they never contained. Check the preview for duplicates, conflicts, and invalid rows; only accepted new rows are added after confirmation. Keep the original file and leave the v2 header and segment data intact.
Local backups and restore previews
Settings → Data & backup keeps the latest 20 local recovery points, including records, activities, and templates. You can create one manually; changed data also receives automatic backups. Open a recovery point to review what will change. The default restore adds missing data and preserves existing edits; replacing changed records or libraries requires an explicit choice. A safety backup is made before restoration. These copies stay on this device, so also keep an important CSV export somewhere you control outside it.
Apple Watch, offline work, and transfer status
The Watch can start, pause, and finish its own timer without a phone connection. Finished records remain in its local queue until the iPhone has saved them and sends confirmation. Bring the paired devices together and open both apps if transfer is pending; keep queued records on the Watch until confirmed. Watch and iPhone timers are independent, so one does not replace the other. Separate phone controls need a reachable iPhone and apply to the phone session displayed on the Watch.
If iCloud records have not appeared
Check that the devices use the same Apple ID, iCloud is available, and Stempel’s iCloud setting is enabled. Keep network access available and reopen the app. “Enabled” describes the storage choice; it does not confirm every record has finished syncing. Before changing sync settings or troubleshooting further, export the records on each device; on 1.1, also create a local backup. Avoid uninstalling the app, clearing iCloud data, or repeatedly toggling sync to force a refresh. If records still differ, contact support with the displayed status and version.
Widgets, Live Activities, and Shortcuts
Open Stempel once after installation so the system can register its widgets and Shortcuts. If a widget looks stale, open the app to check the current timer before acting on it. You can remove and add the widget again without deleting the app. Live Activities must also be allowed in iOS Settings.
Purchases and Family Sharing
Stempel is a paid App Store download with no in-app purchases or subscription. Apple handles downloads, purchase history, refunds, and Family Sharing. For Apple account or billing issues, contact Apple Support.
